A Night Of Comedy, Magic, And Music To Raise Funds For Fair Improvements

WAUKON, IOWA – Part magician, part comedian, and totally dysfunctional, Nathan Tricky Allen will be bringing his acclaimed “adults only” blend of magic and comedy back to Waukon, for a fun night out at the Allamakee County Fairgrounds. The event will be held on Friday, November 26, at the fairgrounds Pavilion building. The show will feature comedy by Waukon’s own Alyssa Blizard, and the evening will also include music and karaoke with Allamakee County favorite, DJ Steve Hill.

Originally an Allamakee County native, Nathan Tricky Allen now entertains throughout the Midwest and across America at comedy clubs, biker bars, company parties, and even Fortune 500 corporate events. His shows are an eclectic blend of sleight-of-hand magic, stand-up comedy, dangerous tricks, stupid stunts, immature pranks, and hilarious (and unpredictable) audience interaction.

With over 20 years of professional experience since he first began doing shows in his hometown of Postville for neighborhood birthday parties, Allen is now known for being one of only a few “adults only” magicians in the entire country, with a show that is naughty, edgy, and tons of fun (without being gross or offensive). His personality-driven performances have been described as “One of the funniest magic shows ever!” (Happenings Magazine; Kenosha, WI), “Star entertainment!” (Inside Magic; Los Angeles, CA), and “A laugh-filled night with a wild and edgy magician!” (Seattle Performs; Seattle, WA).

The International Brotherhood of Magicians presented Nathan with the Justo Hijo Magic Award, based on skill, originality, and entertainment value. He has performed at private parties for heads of state, has appeared on NBC, ABC, The CW, PBS, and TV3 (Europe), and he has been invited to entertain at special events across America for 3M, Budweiser, Ford, Honda, Chevrolet, Wal-Mart, and Facebook, to name just a few.

And yet, in a typical example of his priorities, he insists that he is most proud of being voted Class Clown in his 2002 Postville High School yearbook.

The Nov. 26 event at the fairgrounds will begin with socializing, beverages, and music at 7pm, with opening act Blizard taking the stage at 8:00, followed by Allen’s full headlining show (the same hour-long show seen at comedy clubs and corporate events nationwide), and then the after-party of karaoke and music with DJ Steve.

Tickets for the event are only $10 at the door, and proceeds will be used for Allamakee County Fair improvements.

NOTE: This event was originally scheduled for April 11, 2020. Obviously, that date had to be postponed, but tickets that were originally purchased for the 2020 date WILL BE honored for November 26th.
